REAUME R. MICHAEL, 56, of Royal Oak, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 27, 2010, in his home. He had been ill since May. He fought a brave battle with pancreatic cancer. Never once complaining or asking “Why me?”. He was born on October 11, 1953 in Trenton, Michigan, to Robert and Madeline (Van Stone) Reaume. He grew up on the family farm in Carleton, MI. He was a 1971 graduate of Monroe Catholic Central. He also was a graduate of the University of Michigan where he earned a Masters Degree. He was employed by Jewish Vocational Service of Detroit. He was the Vice President of Rehabilitation Services. Mike touched the lives of many through his work and will be sadly missed by his JVS family. Mike was a loving and devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend. Always available with his gift of counseling or a helping hand. He was a kind, gentle and thoughtful man. He enjoyed gardening and had a green thumb, like his mother. He also loved feeding the birds and squirrels in his beautiful back yard and the numerous cats he had as companions over the years. He is survived by his parents, a brother, Bryan (Jean) Reaume, and a sister, Lana (Herb) Langton, all of Carleton. Also five nieces, Connie (Ryan) Lingar, Tracy (Dan) Goodroe, Tina Reaume, Kimberly Reaume, and Erin Langton and one nephew, Neil Langton. Four great-nephews and one great-niece and his special godmother and aunt, Betty Kelley. Also many cousins and dear friends, especially his long term companion, Jim Sharp. And last but not least, his kitten, Fluffy Louise. Cremation has taken place. The Sawyer-Fuller Funeral Home in Berkley was in charge of arrangements. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2010, at Renaissance Unity Church, 11200 E. 11 Mile Rd., Warren, MI, 48089 at 12:30 p.m., of which he was a member.
