Janet Lynn Broman was born on January 30, 1953 in Petoskey, Michigan. She was one of four children born from the union of the late Robert Lee Broman and the late Dorothy Jean (Coveyou) Broman. Janet attended St. Mary’s Academy graduating with the Class of 1972. She would continue her studies at Wayne State University obtaining an Associate of Science Degree in Nutrition.
She married Jimmy Wolard in October of 1979.
For more than thirty years she worked as a Certified Dietary Manager. She was employed in the Toledo area working for Sunbridge and Brookhaven among others in long-term care. The last five years she served the Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Services before taking a medical retirement in 2014. Even after retirement, Janet worked in food service for Mi-Lo’s Tea, setting up service booths at various retailers.
Janet was described by her own children and grandchildren as being “The Best Mom and Nana ever.” She was strong and independent twice surviving cancer, and proudly raised her two children. Janet loved to cook, bake, and sew. She was a mother to many and even while in poor health she thought enough to share her creations with others. She happily shared her home with fur babies.
